The VACC / TACC EVREADY program is designed to enable businesses to showcase to consumers that they are equipped and skilled to care for all types of Electric Vehicles.
VACC / TACC members who particpate in the program will be authorised to display and use in business promotions the VACC/TACC trademarked EVREADY logo, denoting that the business meets set criteria and are EVREADY.
What is involved?
The EV READY Program adopts the Australian Standard AS 5732:2022 Electric Vehicle Operations – mantenance and repair as the workplace standard.
AS 5732:2022 sets out requirements for the premises and procedures for the following types of work or activity associated with plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs):
- Routine motor vehicle maintenance and repairs not involving the high voltage (HV) rechargeable electric energy storage system (REESS), including lubrication, brake repair, wheel alignment, body or windscreen repairs, cleaning or detailing, and tyre fitting.
- Maintenance, servicing and repairs to vehicles which involve working on or with a HV REESS including the need to disconnect hazardous voltage systems of the PEV, HEV, BEV, PHEV or FCEV.
- Handling procedures and storage precautions required in the event where the vehicle’s structural integrity has been compromised, and the REESS is to be removed from the PEV, HEV, BEV, PHEV or FCEV.
VACC / TACC Members must demonstrate that they meet these requirements through conducting a self audit, providingng evidence of compliance and making a declaration on behalf of the business that they meet and will continue to meet the requirements of the standard.
How do I get involved?
Complete an online registration, application ano/elf assessment by visiting vaccevready.com.au.
A VACC Accrediation Officer will review the application and notify you of the result.
If everything is satisfactory you will be provided a promotional pack that provides you th cessary items to assign the EV READY brand to your business and your promotional material.
Is there a cost?
There is an annual fee of $600.00 (ex. GST) to particpate in the program, this fee covers the cost of access to AS 5732:2022, a certificate to display inside your business, digital EVREADY assets for advertising and your website and signage for outside of your building.
